Interise believes that the number one problem facing America today is economic inequality and the ever widening wealth gap, particularly the racial wealth gap. Scaling small minority-owned businesses and those located in low-income areas addresses this issue head on – creating wealth for the business owners, employees and their communities.
But business development is only a piece of the system-wide problem.
Interise 2020 convenes visionaries, practitioners, and small businesses who are actively changing the model of economic development, making sure to address the systemic issues that prevent sustainable change and impact.
Interise 2020 is for small business owners, economic development leaders and practitioners, and anyone interested in taking action to close the wealth gap and end systemic inequality.
Over 3 days, Interise 2020 combines invigorating Ted-style talks, interactive plenary sessions, and business strategy roundtables. You will engage in insightful, challenging, and necessary conversations on the role you play in closing the wealth gap.
Day One: A convening of the entire network to listen and learn from provocative, TED-style keynote addresses and participate in plenary sessions designed to facilitate interactive discussions. All attendees will finish Day One having identified 2-3 actionable solutions to pursue throughout the remainder of, and following, the conference.
Day Two: Full day of business strategy roundtables and educational breakout sessions to support small business owners and practitioners. All attendees are welcome.
Day Three: Half-day of business strategy roundtables and educational breakout sessions to support small business owners and practitioners. Some specialized programming for various segments of our network, including our national faculty, program partners, and alumni. All attendees are welcome.
We are excited to hear from visionaries, influencers, researchers, and practitioners through TED-style talks, panel discussions, and interactive breakout sessions. Share your story, vision, or learnings about what’s needed to close the wealth gap and build an inclusive economy.
